The Master Mix Concrete team are experienced with supplying ready mixed concrete to restricted access construction sites. In cases where concrete cannot be transported by wheelbarrows, dumpers or other means, then hiring a concrete pump is often the best solution.
We received a call from a local customer looking for ready mix concrete supplied to his building site in Hendon, just South East of Harrow. The site was a semi-detached house on a relatively busy residential street and the customer was building a cabin at the end of the garden. This cabin will be used as additional storage for the family, helping them make more efficient use of the available space.
Using our volumetric concrete mixers we can batch a wide range of concrete mixes on site, and we provided a mix suitable for an external slab.

CONCRETE PUMP HIRE
On the day of the pour our friends at Get Pumped LTD provided their concrete pumping services. The concrete pump was set up just outside of the property and the Master Mix Concrete volumetric concrete mixer positioned its rear above the pump’s hopper. Tarpaulin was laid down underneath the pump to capture any potential spillages. The Get Pumped and Master Mix Concrete teams then installed the concrete pump’s pipeline – sections of steel pipes and flexible rubber hosing that are clipped together.

A SUCCESSFUL CONCRETE POUR IN HENDON!
The concrete pump pipeline was easily assembled to pass from the side of the road, down the driveway, through the narrow alleyway, across the garden and into the pour area. Once the pump was initiated it can transport 1m³ of concrete per minute, allowing the builders to lay and level the concrete as quickly as possible.
On this occasion the builder required around 0.5m³ less than anticipated. However we only batch up the exact amount of concrete required, so the customer only paid for the concrete he used, avoiding any additional over charges. Once the concrete was poured the teams disassembled the concrete pipeline section by section and cleaned it away. We finished the concrete delivery on time and the customer was able to continue with his work on-time and on-budget.
